Affiliate Disclosure

Full Affiliate Disclosure

TheCanadaWealth.com is a for-profit website that earns revenue through affiliate marketing partnerships, display advertising, and sponsored content. This disclosure page explains our monetization practices in full compliance with Advertising Standards Canada, the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and the CSA/CIRO guidelines on financial content disclosure (Staff Notice 31-369, December 2025).

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a performance-based advertising model. When we include a link to a product or service — such as a brokerage account, financial product, or app — and you click that link and complete an action (such as opening an account or making a purchase), we may receive a commission from the company. This commission comes at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate revenue helps fund the production of free educational content on this site, including research, writing, and ongoing maintenance.

Our Affiliate Relationships

We may have active affiliate relationships with some or all of the following types of companies:

  • Online brokerages (e.g. Wealthsimple, Questrade, and similar platforms)
  • Banks and financial institutions offering savings accounts, GICs, or mortgages
  • Tax software providers
  • Personal finance and budgeting apps
  • Insurance providers
  • Credit card issuers
  • Book publishers and financial education courses

A specific list of current affiliate partners is available on request by emailing privacy@thecanadawealth.com. The presence of an affiliate relationship does not guarantee that a product will be featured, nor does it influence our editorial assessment.

How We Disclose Affiliate Links

In compliance with Advertising Standards Canada’s Canadian Code of Advertising Standards and applicable CSA/CIRO guidance, we disclose affiliate relationships as follows:

  • In-article disclosure: Any article containing affiliate links includes a disclosure statement at or near the top of the article, before any affiliate links appear.
  • Link labelling: Where technically feasible, affiliate links may be visually identified.
  • This disclosure page: Linked from our footer, which appears on every page of the site.

We do not hide or minimize affiliate disclosures. Regulators and our readers must be able to identify when we may benefit financially from a recommendation.

Our Editorial Standards

Our editorial content is independent of our commercial relationships. This means:

  • We do not accept payment to write positive reviews. All product assessments are based on our independent research and analysis.
  • We do not give preferential coverage to products solely because they have an affiliate program. We cover products we believe are genuinely valuable to our readers, regardless of whether an affiliate relationship exists.
  • We disclose if we personally use or own any product or security we write about. For example, if an author holds shares in a company or uses a brokerage we review, this is noted in the article.
  • Negative information is not suppressed. If a product has material drawbacks, we include them in our coverage even if we have an affiliate relationship with that provider.

Sponsored Content

Occasionally, companies may pay us to create content about their products or services. Any such content is clearly labelled “Sponsored,” “Paid Partnership,” or “Advertisement” at the top of the article — before the content begins. Sponsored content is written to the same accuracy and quality standards as our editorial content, but readers should be aware of the commercial nature of the relationship.

We do not publish sponsored content that makes false or misleading claims, or that we believe would harm our readers.

Display Advertising

TheCanadaWealth.com may display advertisements through third-party ad networks (such as Google AdSense). These ads are served automatically based on the content of our pages and your browsing history. We do not personally endorse products advertised through these networks. Ad networks may use cookies to deliver relevant advertising — see our Privacy Policy for details.

Securities Disclosure

In accordance with the “general advice” exemption under Canadian securities law (CSA/CIRO Staff Notice 31-369), where the author or operators of this site have a financial interest in any security or financial product mentioned in an article, this interest is disclosed within that article. Examples include:

  • Personally holding shares, ETF units, or other securities mentioned in an article.
  • Having an open account at a brokerage being reviewed.
  • Receiving any compensation — direct or indirect — from an issuer of securities discussed.

We do not recommend the purchase or sale of any security based on any personal financial interest. All content remains general educational information.

No Guarantee of Affiliate Rates or Availability

Affiliate offers, bonus rates, and promotional terms are subject to change by the offering company at any time without notice. We make every effort to keep affiliate offer details current, but we cannot guarantee that the rates, terms, or bonuses described in our articles are still available at the time you click through.
